My son and I want to learn to make rustic furniture and wood carving. Both might help by creating items that could be bartered or sold. Both activities require only a small investment in the way of tools and we have access to all the raw materials we will need for free. Time will tell if we have the talent to make works of art, but functionality is another matter. Do you have an interest or hobby that you coull fall back on in tough times. If not, you might want to evaluate your talents and/or interests and look into exploring that interest....Share with us your ideas and talents.

I knit and crochet and can sew. I have a lot of yarn that people have given me, or I've gotten thriftily--as well as yarn I've bought. So, I can do this sort of thing. My husband and I bluegrass music for charities and fundraisers, and for fun. We've gotten paid to do this, but most of the time, we don't charge.
